She is Good to Herself
by Min Manatha Young on 02/08/12
“She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple”. Proverbs 31:22 The virtuous woman is one who takes good care of herself. She goes above and beyond for her family, her help, and those who are in need, but she doesn’t allow herself to lack or come up short. She is not a frumpy or a shabby woman. She treats herself to the finest apparel and designs that her hands can make. She even made coverings for her bedroom décor. It was the inner courts of her home. It was her place of rest and calm. It was most likely her favorite place in the home and she designed it with elegance to suit her taste.

She is Prepared
by Min Manatha Young on 01/18/12
She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household [are] clothed with scarlet. Proverbs 31:21
The virtuous woman does not have a spirit of fear. Her faith is sound. Her salvation is secure. Her Hope is in Jesus. The virtuous woman is not threatened by spiritual or natural storms. She is a prepared woman who has allowed her past experiences to teach her how to prepare for her future.
What makes her a prepared woman?
1. She is a woman of prayer interceding for her family on a continual basis. She is not one to wait for a storm, trial, or unforeseen occurrence.
2. She is a woman of devotion. She rises early to seek the Lord for the pleasure of his presence, to obtain strength, and guidance daily.
3. She is a woman who makes good use of her hands so much so she is able to clothe her household with the best quality of material throughout every season.
4. She is a woman who uses wisdom with her earnings by storing up a little here and there for a rainy day.
What is the result of her being prepared?
The virtuous woman’s family reaps the benefits of a stable and secure environment because of the foundation she has built.
Exercise:
Please read the scriptures below in your spare time. Think of three ways you can build your house spiritually and physically that you aren’t currently doing or make what you are doing better. Think of the benefits your household will reap once you implement these three ways.
For Example:
Build: I need to get up earlier in the mornings.
Benefit: I can spend time with God in devotion without distraction. I will not be in a rush and get easily irritated. I will have a fresh start to my day.
Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands. Proverbs 14:1
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. Matthew 7:24-25
She Blesses With Her Hands
by Min Manatha Young on 01/07/12
She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. Proverbs 31:19
She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. Proverbs 31:20
The virtuous woman works well with her hands. She is skilled in her ability to knit and crochet garments. Her production has been a blessing to her household thus far. She takes her gifting a step further and blesses the poor and the needy.
The virtuous woman is not self-centered, profit seeking, stingy, or lacking of compassion. She freely gives out of her own abundance to those who are less fortunate. She was blessed to be a blessing.
